OUR FINISH OPTIONS
Color is a big part of what makes Young America so special, but it’s not the only thing. We offer a wide range of options across our many wood stains and painted finishes. Look for these icons as a guide to understand exactly how each technique adds individual character.
Distressing
An effect to make the furniture look aged or less-than-perfect using sandpaper or a paint stripper.
Sand Thru
A technique used to make furniture appear slightly worn around the soft corners and wood drawer pulls.
Fly Spec
Small specs of slightly different contrast often found on European styled collections.
Dry Brush
Hand-brushed step with other techniques that creates a distressed antique effect.
Light Antique
Dry Brush, Fly Spec and Light Distressing with a complementary paint stripe.
Heavy Antique
Dry Brush, Worm Hole, Rasping and Heavy Distressing for a rough and tumble feel.
Striping
A complementing color, sometimes striped into selected grooves and hardware.
Lightly Distressed
A simple effect achieved by giving selected areas a worn look.
Want to mix things up a bit?
Our Mix & Match items are for you. These are some of our most popular styles primarily because they go so effortlessly with pieces from many of our other collections. Let your imagination soar and mix and match pieces to create a room that’s as unique as your child.
